The Balanced System® Framework and Tools are available under licence for use by commissioners, providers, schools and settings.
Better Communication CIC, the not for profit community interest company that provides the Balanced System® is working towards making the tools more freely accessible.
Meanwhile a number of downloads are freely available both on this area of the Balanced System® website and also on the Better Communication CIC website at https://www.bettercommunication.org.uk/downloads/
Overview of the Balanced System® - this provides an outline of the model and its origination based on Marie Gascoigne's work with over 30 Local Authority and CCG areas since 2007. It is due for an update in 2019 so do come back to check for a new version later in the year.
The system includes some high level self assessment tools, outcomes based on the Five Strands and a range of outcome measures linked to these. We are please to be able to provide free access to the Balanced System® Baseline Evaluation and Balanced System® Detailed Evaluation tools which form the initial stages of the Balanced System® improvement cycle. The Balanced System® is also adapted to provide an accredited programme of school and setting improvement. There are over 100 schools and settings across the UK either accredited or on the programme which began in 2015.
